NEW WINDSOR
-Fifty organizations gathered Monday to discuss how to better
serve the fastest-growing population of the Hudson Valley. The
inaugural Hudson Valley Latino Forum was organized by a
nonprofit business incubator, Gateway To Entrepreneurial
Tomorrows, also known as GET.Local, regional and state agencies
represented at the forum included:
Somos La Llave Del Futuro Inc. (Monticello), Latinos Unidos of
the Hudson Valley (Newburgh), Bureau of Immigrant Workers Rights
(Albany), 100 Hispanic Women (New York City), New York state
Office of Children & Family Services (Rensselaer), El Museo del

Latinos advocacy group steps up voter registration
POUGHKEEPSIE – An advocacy group in the Hudson Valley and
Catskills Thursday launched a push to register more Latinos in
the region for the November general election.
Somos la Llave Del Futuro rolled out a campaign in Poughkeepsie
telling residents their vote counts.

On
September 2008, Somos la Llave del Futuro
initiated its first leadership project in the Hispanic
Community: “Somos Salud”.
Thanks to funds provided by
the United Way of Dutchess County and the Foundation for
Community Health, this collaborative project which
connects with other service organizations in the
northeast area of Dutchess County, became a reality.
